Default Liner Replacement - How Much

I just saw we have 2 holes in the corner of our liner.

The pool was built in 1993 and it is a 16x32 with 8ft walkout steps. Corners are 2ft radius rectangle.

Any ideas how much a new liner is going to cost and do they install new foam side panels as well as fresh vermiculate (sp) bottom.

How big are the holes? I just patched two in mine this weekend that were a quarter inch or so and I now can't find the patches without diving down and dragging my hand across the surface. Very easy to do.

They are about 3-4 inches wide.

Well, if you haven't looked at patch kits you might want to give it a go before a full replacement, unless it's got other issues.
The kit I have (and I'm sorry but it's not in front of me right now, but it's a blue box) has a roll of semiclear plastic material about 4 inches wide. You dab on the glue, fold it in half, don your facemask or goggles and dive down and stick it on.

The 'blue box' patch kit that Chuck is talking about is the Boxer patch kit. It is the best I have seen and should have no trouble patching a couple 3-4" holes. If you have other issues, you can still go ahead and repolace the liner. To give you an idea, my price for installing a new 16' X 32' liner, including 4 hours repair for the bottom, measuring, installing, balancing the water, new face plates, liner lock and 8,000 gallons of water is around $3,300 - $3,500 CAD. This does not include new foam or vermiculite.

Wow, 3000-3500 that's about a 1/3 the cost of my pool.

    Where are you located.

I wonder if it's possible to convert it too a gunite pool.

I replaced our 18X36 sport pool liner this spring. Installed it myself while the wife was at work. Purchased the liner online from Water Warehouse. (Not affiliated with Water Warehouse).

Foam sidewalls looked fine to me as did the concrete bottom but had some pool patch just in case. Didn't use it. Replaced the skimmer & return plates and all new gaskets.

Fits as good as the original, if not better.

    Total cost, $1100 + water

    Hope this helps, Tony

We had our 16x32 with 8' deep end liner replaced last year for $1500 installed. Labor was half the cost. If we have to do it over again, I'm strongly considering doing it myself.

    That's a lot more reasonable than 3K

I agree Jim, the installed price quoted me was $1950 + labor + water.
