I have a IG fiberglass 8500g pool. I want to use the BBB method as pucks make no difference whatsoever in my chlorine levels. I am currently at 1ppm CC and 0 fc stabalizer is at 50.
Can you tell me how much bleach to add to do a shock?

With cya of 50, you need to shock to 15. In an 8500 gallon pool, each quart of 6% bleach will raise your cl by just under 2 ppm.
Thank you! So now, using the BBB method I won't ever need the bag shock again?
One more question.. what should my daily level of FC be from now on?
Thanks!

I am thinking 3ppm?
Use Ben's best guess table to determine - but I think closer to 5ppm.

Hi Gerri
First , you dont have to buy "shock" , bleach works great . ( shock is really just the action , not the product)
Second , keeping at 3 ppm for a cya of 50 is ok minimum . I coppied the best guess chart into notepad and put it on my desktop so I always have it. comes in handy for a quick check
With cya of 50, free chlorine should be kept between 3-6 all the time.
