    Default Test Results

    Hello,

We've got an IG gunite pool, 16'x30', approx. 17000gal. The house was built in 1971, pool has got to be pretty old, the pump sure looks it. We're in central Florida. Here are the numbers:
    temp: 86
FC: 13 (had some kids over, so we raised it a bit)
    CC: 0
    TC: 13
    pH: 7.2
    Alk: 110
    Cal: 470
    CYA: 80

Should I be concerned about the calcium? What are the first signs of scaling?

    Thanks,
    ~A

    Hi, Audra,

Your numbers are fine. Ca is a little high but I don't think it will give you problems. Avoid high pH to prevent scaling.

You've got plenty if not too much CYA for a non-SWG pool. Don't use any pucks the rest of the Summer. Cal Hypo is a no-no also. Chlorinate with bleach only.
