    Default Sta Rite equipment good?

How good is the quality of Sta Rite equipment verus jandy or hayward?

It seems my builder for my IG vinyl pool is Sta Rite equipment. So I figure I ask. Thanks

I think Sta Rite is of similar if not slightly better quality than some of the others. However, when I built my pool, they did not offer an extended warranty for buying multiple items. This is the reason I did not go with Sta Rite. Otherwise, I probably would have.

Starite is owned by Pentair. Their quality is very good.

my starite sand filter and pump are both at least 10 years old..and i know the prior owners did as little as possible to maintain them.when we bought our house 4 years ago, only thing i had to do was i cleaned out the filter of some gunk..otherwise, i religously clean out the trap basket, backwash and rinse once a week..no problems..i would buy their stuff again if the quality is as good as these were.my furnace on the other hand is the original (1983) hayward. i think it's going south as for the first time since we've been here, sometimes when it fires it up it belches about a 1 to 1.5 foot flame out the front for some reason. i suspect something is rusted out..but the thermostat etc is working fine..i may get a starite heater given my luck with the rest of the stuff next year. on that note, if anyone has any ideas on what the flame is about, let me know i want to get through this season anyways..and there is no smell of natural gas before this happens so it doesn't appear to be a leak persay but...

The pump I will be getting is the Dura-Glas, which seems to been around since dinosaur time. So I assume this will be a extremely relaible pump, right?

you won't go wrong with a duraglas. that is what i currently have..it's still running fine and it's been 4 summers for me and i'm guessing at least 4 years before that if not longer before i owned the house. it does not leak and only thing i've done on it is changed the lid because the gasket developed a crack (would have likely been fine if i lubed it with silicon spray but my understanding was it was permanently lubed. i suspect the gasket had been replaced prior and quite frankly, it would not have hurt for a 5 dollar can of silicone spray from napa to spray it once a season anyway)
