Default What PSI should a filter run at?

I have a Star DE-50 filter and a Dynamo 1hp pump. I also have an automatic chlorinator hooked up between the filter and the return. My filter pressure is at 12. Is that ok? Is that high or low? I have no clue and the directions didn't say what a normal pressure is. I've checked everywhere! Anyone know?

That sounds within normal range to me. A lot of factors go into the pressure, so differences from one pool to another are totally normal. The exact same pool size with the same filter and pump can even run at different pressures. My pressure runs around 14 or 15 on my 60" filter w/ 1 HP pump.

I think the only thing that matters is that you know what the pressure is when your filter is clean so that you can tell when the filter needs cleaning by a rise from the normal pressure.

My pressure runs about 10 psi when my solar mat is bypassed and 15 psi when not bypassed.
