    Default Pristine Blue

My pool dealer has recommended using Pristine Blue instead of chlorine. Says it is more forgiving than chlorine and is a low chlorine product.
Please tell me the pros & cons of using Pristine Blue. Thanks

    Thumbs down Wouldn't recommend it.

It is a copper based product that requires you run at least a .5ppm FC so there is residual sanitizer. You would have to use it in addition to chlorine!
for the pros and cons of it read Ben's FAQ on metals here:

My own feeling is that copper is going to cause problems and it is not as effective sanitizer as chlorine. I really don't want to take a chance with the health of my family. Do you?

Thanks for your help. I read the article you suggested. Guess I don't need to use this start up kit that came with the pool.
I used chlorine with my previous pool. Will stick with chlorine.
