Default Need help, we were told we need a new pump

I think my pump is gone for, we hired someone to take a look at it and they said the pump isn't suppose to be loud, it needs to be replaced.

The pump still pumps water just fine, but it's loud, don't know if it's suppose to be this loud. And every 30minutes it turns off by itself, and we have to go out there and turn it back on. Sounds like its gone for? We ran it a while back for about 30minutes-1hour dry last time, that might have been the problem. If so, how much is a replacement going to run me around?

The pool is drained right now, and I would like the start filling it up ASAP, like today if possible. Should I wait for a new pump to be installed or can I start filling up my water now?

Delta, welcome to the forum, great choice to have a hastle free pool! I don't know why you drained the pool, but you can start refilling it before you get the new MOTOR, odds are that the pump housing is ok, though you may need to replace the shaft seal and housing gasket when you install the new motor. As long as you can keep the pool water out of the pump while the replacement motor is being installed, everything should be fine. It sounds to me that the motor has been compromised (usually the bearings) which is why it's loud - the cutting off is caused by the motor overheating, it comes back on when it cools enough. My diagnosis is to replace the motor, however I haven't been out to see your situation, so there's a chance something else is going on.
I wish you luck with the problem, if I can be of further service, simply ask
