Question Installing a deck-mounted start rail

When we built our pool, we decided to go for a "clean" look and not have a railing for our stairs or ladder (we do have 2 benches in the deep end). But over time we have discovered that while we easily get in and out of the pool, it is too hard for older folks like our parents. So now we want to retrofit a deck-mounted hand rail for the steps. Here is what I am looking at:

I was going to have our pool builder do the work, but I am not sure how involved this would be or what this will cost so I wanted to get an opinion here. I assume the deck would be drilled for the 2 anchor sockets, but is it straightforward installing these things after the decking is poured? Anyone have any experience doing something like this? Any horror stories? What do you think of SR Smith deck accessories?
