    Default Polaris 65 experts needed

I have a 10 year old polaris 65 and it needs a new float hose. I have only had this machine for a year it came with the pool. I would like to keep it going but I'm concerned that the internal workings could be getting old. It operates Ok sorta does lazey 8's in the pool. It could be that the old hose is less pliable (SP?) . Could some one tell me which parts to inspect for wear so I can decide if I want ro rebuild or replace the whole unit. I recieved the origonal manual with the polaris and Part #34 Polaris 65 Filter Screen was not included when this machine was manufactured.

    thanks again

I have the 165 but I think they are the same.

If the coverage of the pool is OK, then it's fine. But when it goes wrong it won't cover the pool--and when mine did that, it went into a tight spiral, locking the whole thing up. The internals of the floating piece needs to be replaced then. It looks like a giant, clear plastic mechanical bug.

What you should see, if you lift it out of the water, is it alternating jets, front and rear, in a random but even pattern All four jets should spray water equally hard, and they should all come on by themselves in turn (and sometimes together).

If that's OK, then replace the hose. Otherwise....call Polaris and ask them.

Yep I have water alternating from all jets. Called Polaris and they confirmed that older more ridged float hose will cause it to not cover the entire pool. Now I can save my money for a Pool Buster Yea!
    thanks
