Yesterdays results with Ben's kit were:
FC-0
PH 7.2
alk 120
cal 230
cya 50
salt 800
So using the Calc I added the following
.5 gallons of 12.5% bleach aiming for 2
480 pounds of salt aiming for 2700
2 lbs CYA aiming for 60
This morning results are:
fc 0
ph 7.2
alk 120
cal 230
cya 70
salt 4200
I repeated the salt test using water from a different part of the pool thinking maybe the salt I added was not fully circulated and I got 4000 the second time.
How the heck did my salt go so high? Might it settle lower?
I really expected to wake up today with everything perfect. Instead I have way too much salt since recommended max for this unit is 3200.
I run the pump 24/7.
Any ideas?
Jeff
P.S. Thanks to all who provide such wonderful info on this forum.
The mineral springs unit will work fine with that high a salt level. running it at the level your were aiming for will actually shorten the cell life.
As far as the testing results I suspect that your are probably much lower than the tested level. there have been some problems with the salt test that Ben is working on to resolve. Just as a backup have your salt level tested at a pool store and see what they come up with.
