I think you are referring to calcium hypochlorite tabs.
No CYA but they'll add calcium to your water, which may or may not be a good thing.
I read a post before but cant find it now. I was using Trichlor tabs in my feeder and now my CYA is at 40. Im going to stop using the Trichlor but would like to keep using the feeder. What is the name of unstablized chlorine tabs? Are they the same as the trichlor just no CYA?
Thanks
John

I have a vinyl liner, does calcium matter? Id just like to regulate my chlorine level a little more for times when Im not arround.
Thanks

I think this was the thread. Doesn't sound too promising, and sounds like they're for a skimmer, not a feeder.

I think that tri-chlor tabs are the only well suited tabs for a feeder.
I would not use any other tabs in the feeder especially one that was already used with tri-chlor.
Under no circumstances should you put anything other than Trichlor in that feeder, even if you think you've cleaned it out well enough. Mixing chemicals is very dangerous and it only takes trace amounts to have a reaction.Originally Posted by jrv331

Thanks for letting me know not to use any thing else in the feeder. What were the tabs others have been putting in nylons , then in the skimmer basket?
Althought getting harder for me as Im away so much lately looks like I just may have to stick with bleach.
Thanks
John
NO! NO! NO! NO!
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you EVER mix types of chlorine in a feeder--it is very, Very, VERY DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!
NEVER, EVER USE A CONTAINER/FEEDER FOR MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF CHLORINE...THINK SKULL AND CROSSBONES!!!!!
Carl
Thank you Carl!

Carl,
VERY well said! I just don't think you empasized the danger enough! (and I'm being serious!) It's more than skulls and crossbones....more like exploding fire and brimstone!![]()
