    Default OK here it goes...

I opened the pool this year and had to add water, almost a 3rd of the water. I shocked the pool with 4 bags of shock, added 4 boxes of baking soda and prayed. Tested the water everyday with my cheapo test kit from kmart, levels were high. That was all before I found this site. Now I went and purchased a Taylor complete test kit from Leslies, all after reading up and learning from all the great posts and info that is here. Getting to my point, the CYA is around 120. So I am currently draining the pool. I will drain half. Now my questions:
What are the steps once the pool is refilled.
What should the CYA be? 50?
What is the best way to convert form pucks to bleach?

Hope I did not run on and thank you in advance.

    BTW I have a 18 x 33 ag

Post a complete set of test results...you'll get lot's of good help. Also tell us how many gallons in your pool and if it's FG, vinyl, or plaster.

Yeah, that's not bad. Sounds like you'll be around 60 when you get refilled...that's possibly a little bit high but certainly manageable.

What is the best way to convert form pucks to bleach?

Easy. just stop using pucks and start using bleach.....download "bleachcalc" from any of mwsmith2's posts...it'll tell you how much to add
