Another . . .new PS234 results on "new" pool
New plaster IG pool here. Just got my kit yesterday and everythin glooks pretty good -
FC - 3.0
CC - 0.0
TC - 3.0
PH = 7.7 (less than 7.8 but higher than 7.5)
ALK = 100
CAL = 210
CYA = 30
Temp = 84
SALT = 4600
I expected similar results based on the fill water and what I have been doing over the past few weeks. Although, I am surprised that the CYA is not higher as I added 12 #'s CYA since I filled the pool (over past 4 weeks). Based on the Calculator my CYA should be around the 50 CYA recommended by the SWG company.
Q1 - The SWG manual says the minimum CYA is 50 for operation (I would rather stay lower, should I stay with what the SWG company reco's?)?
Q2 - Calcium seems low. For a new plaster pool what is the recommended range for this?
Q3 - I am fairly sure that the salt calculation is high (4600). I only added 720 #'s of salt to a 30,000 gallon pool (pool size is pretty accurate based on the shipped in truck water). Based on the salt I added, the ppm should be around 2800 + salt in the fill water (around 200ppm - is that possible?) = 3000 ppm. The SWG concurs and reports between 3000 - 3100 ppm. Still have problems with the salt calc? BTW - I repeated the test 3 times with similar results
Any other tips is appreciated!
Thanks
