With a CYA of 0, the Cl needs to be below 5 or so before you no longer risk fading bathing suits, but the good news is that on a sunny day it won't take long at all for your Cl to come down! Also, make sure that your pump is running 24/7 while you're clearing up the dead algae..the chlorine kills it, but the filter is what removes it from your water.
