Question Help..the Metal Rods That Hold Liner

We are finally getting to the last phase of installing our new liner, just four more sections to go, and just when we were getting excited about finally finishing we hit another snag..
The metal "rods" that go over the plastic "clips" is refusing to stay down. I thought that I read somewhere in the forum when that happens stick a penny between the rod and plastic, but with the nightmares I've had don't know if I was dreaming or not. Can I bend them to make them fit or is there something else I can do to keep the rods down and tight??

Hi, I have several different tricks depending on the type of pool. The most common would be to tighten the opening in the rod by gently squeezing it with a small set of vise grips. Do this in several places over the length of the rod and it should stay in place.

Most of the time when a rod will not stay in place it is a sign something is not right with the pool. This is not always the case but something to consider. The reasons would be pool not level in that area or it is out of round. If either of these issues exist but are just minor you should be OK to tighten the rods and finish the job.

    Best of luck, Dennis
