    Default Heater help

Hi All, anyone know where to find information on pool heaters? Is one better than the other? We are building an 18 x 38 foot pool and I'm having a hard time finding comparision reviews on heaters. What is your experience?

There are a lot of heater posts so I would search the forum for the type of heater you are looking for... heat pump, gas/propane heater or solar. Each has positives and negatives so it would be too much for one post.

I'll give you *my* experience -- after spending $1K (no kidding) on our gas bill one month for heating the pool we switched to solar and never looked back.

Given today's rising energy costs I don't know why anyone would consider anything else. I love my solar system.

I have a gas heater, and now I am going to have solar installed. If I had it to do over again, I would just install the solar - the gas is very expensive, therefore I don't use it much. Once you have the intial cost of solar, the everyday expense is 0! Just my 2 cents.
