    Default Replace the sand?

    I have cloudy water...

After I opened the pool for the first time (My first pool) I realized my winterizing job Multiple tarps and other methods didn't keep the crap out. The water was really brown stinky bad. Early this fall I'll do some research here on doing a better job next time.

So anyway, I shocked the heck out of it and it seemed to clean up well, but only problem is it's cloudy. The previous owners said they replaced the sand 2 years ago...should I do it again?

My first post...any help would be appreciated.

I read the 100 reasons your pool could be cloudy (I especially like the golfball or toy soldier reasons), but I'm going to need some clean-up ideas.

    Hi, Saturn,

To give you a worthwhile opinion, we'll need some current test results.
    FC
    CC
    pH
    Alk
    CYA

Post back if you are unsure what those mean. There is virtually no chance that sand is your issue. There is a 95% chance that lack of chlorine is the problem......but we're just guessing without those tests.
