Default 45000 gallon pool third week using bbb

So far water has been crystal clear and sweet from day one using the test kit. My #'s are holding at about FC 3 CC 0 Ph 7.7 Alk 130 Cal 240 Cya 35 temp 88.

My only problem is a steadily rising Ph. I seem to need about 1 gallon of muratic acid a week to stay under 7.8 , is this normal? My plaster is still curing (20 days) and I am getting a little scailing on the tile if I let the ph rise.

Thanks for the help, love the info and simplicity of this program

I remember reading on the old forum that each pool's ph tends to be different. Some tend to drift up and others down. Why? One thing is the type of chlorine you use.

Bleach tends to cause the PH to run up. Some pools faster than others. Keep up with the Muratic Acid. I don't understand the dynamics of PH and scaling on plaster, but you may need to lower your PH down to 7.2 and let it drift up to 7.6 and then add more acid to prevent the scaling since you are getting that at 7.8

    Good Luck!

plaster curing causes increases in PH - having to reduce it is normal
