Default Help before I put liner in

I've got everything set up and will be putting in my liner in this weekend but I just heard that the two edges of the pool that get bolted together must sit over a patio stone.

Is this a structural requirement or a cosmetic one? I assume that it is so you can hide the nuts on the outside of the pool under one of the upright supports. Since my pool is built into the ground, it would be a couple of hours worth of work to break it down and get this to line up over one of the supports and I'd rather not do it if it is merely for cosmetic purposes.

    As always thanks in advance.

Just cosmetic. Nothing I would change if it was not done that way from the beginning.
