I had to do some maintenance on the backup unit on my Polaris 380, so I removed the threaded plastic hose clamps at each end to take it off. Getting them off was a challenge, but nothing like getting them back on. I finally gave up and used regular SS hose clamps.

It appears like you push the hose over the barb and then twist the clamp on somehow, but all I did was tear up my hands trying to create threads in the hose. Is there a trick to this?
