Default What powers pressure side cleaners?

I'm wondering if I need to have my builder add anything to the pool for a pressure side pool cleaner. I don't what to leave anything option out if I can.

Higher end cleaners use a dedicated booster pump and fitting.

So, should I have the pool plumbed with the fitting and add a booster pump later?

Your call. Maybe research cleaners and decide what you want in the future.

The important thing is to have a dedicated cleaner line installed in the pool. Make sure that it is near the middle of the pool, not an end as I have been seeing lately. After that it can be used for either suction or pressure by making a few changes at the pad.

All the money dropped into a pressure side cleaner and booster pump might be better spent on a robotic. PB might not recommend because they don't 'do' anything to generate income off that.

I agree. I am blding an inground vinyl pool and was planning on plumbing for a pressure side cleaner. After exploring all options and costs I am going with a robotic. No exta pipes, price is about the same if you have to buy the booster pump with your cleaner , robotics use less power and filter with out the pump running so again electrical is reduced. I am going to go with one of the dolphins probably from costco for $990. Chris
