I wonder how far up the corporate ladder pool dude will climb.

Dear Thilbert,
Are you related to Ogden Nash? No? Oh well, never mind, you're funny in your own right. Thanks for the laughs. I needed something to tickle my funny bone while in the midst of my own pool renovation trials and tribulations.
I've got a similar problem.
Last year there was water in my light housing. Pool Guy looked at and said I needed a replacement.
Ok, since cost was $150. He proceeds to remove bezel, housing, bulb, etc. Then cuts off wire.
Comes back next week and tries to fish wire from new light into light opening. Will not go, probably because there is some type of junction box.
Now I've had my electrician run a completely new wire and next season when the liner is replaced we may able to fish the new light to a new junction box. Here's hoping.
I last changed the pool light bulb 3 yrs ago. Now that I have the pool drained and cleaned, I decided to replace the pool light with a new color wheel unit (SAm).
It was pretty straight forward swap.
• Made sure the pool light switch was set to the off position and turned off the circuit breaker to the pool light.
• Solid conduit going from the niche to the GFI outlet near the diving board.
• I just undid the two wires on the GFI outlet and untwisted the wire nut for the light's ground wire.
• Pulled the old pool light wire through the conduit from the niche end.
• Fiched up the new pool light wire through the conduit and wired the new light to the GFI outlet.
My layout was a near exact match to this diagram:
Picture is from the Owners manual for the Pentair Spectrum Amerlite SAm light.
My light ring's finish was pretty worn out, chrome finish worn through. The heavy & thick metal ring was showing the copper base metal (or rust?).
I tried getting a replacement light ring at the pool store, but my light ring was an old discontinued line (Aladdin ~30 yrs old). A replacement light ring adapter was going to be $$ and would have to be special ordered.
I decided to have it refinished, it would be a less expensive route. Re-chroming would take some time, so I had it powder coated with a chrome like finish and then clear coated to resist the pool chemicals. Cost me $40 and a two day turn around.![]()
I have a question for the San lights. I have two in the pool and they were in synch at first. then after a couple of weeks of them being hooked up, One light was in the green and the other was in the blue. Then oddley enough they kinda adjusted themselves again, but not perfectly. Last night I pulled the plate off the goldline control box and checked out the wireing for the lights and they are not hooked up individually at the box, they must be piggy backed somewhere else. Because what I wanted to do was d/c one of the lights at a point in color. then have the other light shut off where the other light stoped. then reconnect everything again but couldnt tell how. I was wondering if there was another approach to synching the two lights. Thanks.

SAm operation & synchronization.
Just a series of turning the lights on/off to synchronize multiple SAm lights onto the same color.
