Default Water Sample results after 1/2 water change

Here are the number before the water change and the fill water.

Here's my before and fill water numbers

    Before:

0 ppm ------Free Chlorine - shocked the night before with power powder
    <.5 ppm ----Total Chlorine
    <.5 ppm ----Combined Chlorine
    7.2 ---------PH
    100 ppm ----Total Alkalinity
    460 ---------Hardness
    >100 --------Cyanuric Acid

    Fill water:
    3 ppm ------Free Chlorine
    3 ppm ----Total Chlorine
    0 ppm ----Combined Chlorine
    7.5 ---------PH
    260 ppm ----Total Alkalinity
    80 ---------Hardness
    <30--------Cyanuric Acid

Got it refilled and ran some tests this afternoon. Here are the results.

    0 ppm ------Free Chlorine
    >.5 ppm ----Total Chlorine
    >.5 ppm ----Combined Chlorine
    7.2 ---------PH
    140 ppm ----Total Alkalinity
    320 ---------Hardness
    55--------Cyanuric Acid.

Seems that draining and replacing about 9000 gallons was worth the effort. Using the Bleach Calculator, I'm trying to get the FC levels up to 20 to shock it and clear out the algae that has been plaguing me for months(and draining my wallet in the process-I got pool stored), I added 5 gallons of bleach.

I'll check it in a bit to see how the FC is looking. Any other suggestions?

Nice work. Don't be too surprised if you consume a lot of chlorine this first evening. If you're a night owl, you can speed the process a little by testing just before you go to bed.

After all that, I remember now you've kept some Cl in there already so you may, in fact, lose very little. We'll all be interested in tomorrow's test results.

Thanks Dave, I thought I'd move my information up here where it belongs instead of the other forum. Hope they don't mind too much.

I'll be up a little late tonight anyway, but I gotta get up early for traffic court tomorrow. Dang HPD speed traps.

Well, that 6 bottles of bleach went quick.

Just checked before bed and FC is down below 2.

Guess I'm heading back to get a few more cases of bleach.
