So - anyone have any experience using a heat pump in Florida? And/or any recommendations?
I have solar panels, which MAYBE give us another month of swimming but don't help much with March/April/October/November, the months I was hoping to at least have *some* swimming in (I live in central Florida -- for the last two months the highs have been in the 80's most days, but the water can't get higher than 75 or so, which is WAY too cold for my wife and I to swim in).
We have a gas heater of 15 years which stopped working around 10 years ago and we never replaced it because it was costing a fortune to heat the pool (back then - $1k per month). 30K gallon pool and while we do have a hot tub (hence the gas heater mostly) we never used it even when the heater was working. So I don't care if the heat pump can't do that, but it needs to get the pool water to 82 or more for us to consider it.
TIA for any help.
