Re: Autopilot or Aquarite??? Why???
Of course my response to this question will be biased. However, to provide some more information...
AutoPilot does not have a HIGH salt cut-off, which means your system will continue operating without having to drain down water, especially if you accidentally over salt the pool.
AutoPilot does have a salt addition amount display, to help you maintain the correct salt level. Low salt levels will allow the cell to reduce efficiency in producing chlorine, and will accelerate cell wear.
AutoPilot has Automatic Temperature Compensation, which will help aleviate some responsibility in testing and adjusting the output of the system as temperatures change. Higher temps mean you need more chlorine. Lower temps means you need less. If you do not adjust the output of the system, you risk the chance to underchlorinate (summertime algae or healthy water issues) or overchlorinate (equipment corrosion), but not with AutoPilot.
Patented Manifold assembly, which increases the efficiency of the chlorine process by slowing down the water flow through the cell. This leads to longer contact time with the water, thus more "Shocking" time through the cell.
Dedicated salinity meter means the salt display is from an actual salt (conductivity) sensor and not affected by the condition of the cell.
-->Regarding residential pool and spa operation, there is no need to maintain separate chlorine levels in your pool vs spa. The recommended manifold location will maintain the same chlorine levels in your pool and spa. How do all the "other" chlorine maintained pool/spa owners maintain their pool vs spa chlorine levels? Higher chlorine level in the spa? Anyone?
-->Regarding technical support, although we have had challenges with our phone response times, ALL AutoPilot e-mails to AutoPilotTechSupport, Infoonramp, AutopilotManagersGroup, or ComplaintsandConcerns, go directly to me. While I may occasionally travel to locations without internet access (such as the Cancun Hilton a few weeks ago due to it being in the pre-Grand-reopening phase), I don't think I've gone a few days without responding back to an e-mail. I have been turning over most of these e-mails to another tech support staff, he has been also replying daily, as I get copied on all his responses.
I went back and checked as many e-mails in my send or deleted mailboxes and could not find any from CalMan. What other name might it have come in as?
I find that questions specific to AutoPilot that are posted on poolforum are addressed and answered sufficiently so that I do not need to answer. I do come on almost daily and respond if I need to...and as you can tell see, at all times of day! BY ALL MEANS, please e-mail me directly if you have any questions!
