Default Time-Lapse of New Pool Build

    Hey Guys,

Doing a time-lapse of the new pool build in case anyone wanted to see the steps in building a pool. Also looking for feedback on best products to use in a salt system to keep it maintained.
    1. Day 1
    2. Day 2 + 3
    3. Day 4

    Thanks,
    fwolferd

Upgraded membership and moved thread to the In-ground construction section. You may need to log out and back in to see everything.

PS.You can search use Google to search multiple pool sites, using Google's 'advanced search operators" to limit your search to specific sites. This page of mine will create the search links for you. Google knows my site -- and all the others -- much better than those sites internal search functions! And, if you need to post pictures -- of your pool, filter, pump, piping, what-not -- there are instructions on this page

Please note: the Super Search page does NOT search directly; it only CREATES special Google links, that enable a FOCUSED Google search!

You may want to take a look at the salt Pro/Con list here.

If your pool will have natural stone or a heater . . . you might want to rethink using a salt system. They do FAR more corrosion damage than the manufacturers admit. For example, if any of the rebar is a bit shallow, a salt water pool will result in greatly accelerated rebar damage (+ rust expansion = gunite pop-out!). If you ask your builder, he may well say something like, "Oh! We never have any problems with salt! . . . which is not too surprising, given that most builders maintain a relationship with pools they build for the 1 year construction warranty period, and not a day more. Ask to see some salt pools he built FIVE years ago . . . unless you are planning to sell your house and pool sooner than that.

As far as best chemistry, salt changes nothing . . . except adding salt and a tendency for the pool's pH to rise.

    Good luck!

Awesome feedback Ben. I will talk with the builder to see if they can provide some references for pools older than 5 years. do you have any feedback on using wet Edge, specifically signature Matrix?
