Default Re: Startup after replaster--do's and don't?

We have just had the pool replastered with Diamond Brite, and here are following the rules below.

    1. When full, i.e., above the return jets, start the circulation through the main drain only. Run continuously for 3 days.

    2. On the first day, test the water completely, including temperature. Adjust pH to 7.2 - 7.4 and TA to 100 ppm. Do not add chlorine or calcium chloride.

    3. Brush the entire surface twice a day for the first three days. Maintain the ph and TA levels in Item #2.

    4. On the third day, adjust the chemistry as follows:
    Free Chlorine 1 - 3 ppm, pH 7.4, TA 120ppm, CH 200ppm, Stabilizer 30 ppm

    5. Set pump timer to normal operating hours.

    6. Do not use a wheeled vacuum for 14 days to avoid leaving "wheel marks".

    7. Brush pool bottom and walls daily for the first two weeks.

These instructions are not cast in stone, but to give guidelines based on customer feedbacks.

    Hope this helps.
