I think I'll try that! I have been letting mine dry completely before turning it inside out and have found it much neater that way. I shake it some, hit it against the fence some and then rinse it in a bucket. I find that easier for me.
After a few days with the Dolphin I found one of the most difficult areas of the filter bag to clean was the corners where the seams end. They form a small pocket and you have to turn the thing inside out to clean it and it's still awkward to get the debris out.
Then I found that if you fold about 1" of the fabric back before you put on the plastic clip, the debris cannot get into the corner and cleaning is much easier.
With the plastic part on the ground, put the filter bag over the wires and bunch the fabric up towards the middle of the wire until an inch or so is left, then fold it back and put on the clip.

At the price they charge for a replacement bag I'll try to be as gentle as possible.

Thanks, Brent. That is a great tip. I just love my Dolphin. It gets the pool so clean.
I have been rinsing the bag and then washing in the washing machine. It never really gets that bogged up with dirt.
I have a ton of trees and a lot of tiny stem-like debris that really sticks to the bag. I am running the Dolphin pretty much every other day because of the leaves and other debris. Just hosing the bag doesn't work for me. I have been letting it dry as I said and shaking it. I swish it in a bucket of water with a dash of laundry detergent and it comes out clean as a whistle.
It does say to clean it as soon as it is removed from the pool, but so far I have not had a problem. I think I may invest in the filter bag made for rough debris though.

make sure you rinse real good after the swish in the deterg. Most detergents are high in phosphorus that will promote growth of green stuff.
That's why at cottages around lakes they promote phos free detergents.
good luck.
