Salt descrepancy?

my PS234 reports salt at 2200ppm (11 drops).

That sounds *very* low.
AutoPiiot reports 2900
Leslie's reports 3000 (strip)

I've tested it 3 times... cleaned the tips, etc.

FC+CC, TC, pH, Alk, Cal, CYA matched my HTH 5-way.

Leslie's (day later) matched except for salt (above) and Cal. They showed 125, I got 230 with PS234 and HTH. I think Leslie's is wrong on that.

update:

Add to the above tests, another pool store that used an electronic tester and got 2700. When I asked when it was last calibrated, they said "huh"! So take it as another (albiet questionable) data point.

I decided to add 120 lbs of salt to my ~35k pool and see what happens. BleachCalc said it should bump it around 400ppm.

Auto-Piliot now shows 3300ppm! Right on the money.

PS234s now shows.... 2600ppm! Right on the money! Huh?????

There is now a very, very slight taste to the pool water. (to be expected at 3300ppm)

Pretty strange that both PS234s and SWG showed the correct 400ppm jump, yet PS234s still shows low.

I did one more test... Rockker earlier posted a formula: 2.5 cups water, 1/4 tsp table salt = 3000ppm on his Taylor test.

I cooked up a batch... let it sit for a while. PS234s showed, 2200ppm, which pretty much matches my original chemistry. (and 3000ppm via Auto-Piliot and Leslie's)

So, I'm pretty confident that 11 drops on my PS234s is a consistant 3000ppm! My kit is wrong! Mystery solved, except why did the PS234s jump 400ppm too??
