The advice here is sound:
You NEED chlorine and you need to lower your pH.
Calcium is a waste of money in vinyl pools.
The GOOD news is everything you've stated is fixable, quite easily.

Hi Thanks for the advice!
Last night I added a gal of muriatic acid, waited 1 hr. & added 3 gal bleach. Waited another hour & tested.
ph 7.3
fc 5
cc 0
The water is slooowllyy clearing up. But the numbers seem good. Tested this morning, fc level same as last night.
Am I on the right track? Is there anything I need to do?
Should I be running de filter until water clears up? Or will it clear up by itself?
Sounds like you are on the right track. For sure keep the filter running.Originally Posted by wetshoes1

Thanks!
probably just calcium carbonate. Just vacumn it up.

If you have white dust on the bottom you should probably vaccum to remove it.
