And messed up bad. My husband and I just recently built a pool. We've had it just over one month since we filled it. Wanted to add boric acid. When I got it, the packing list showed boric acid. I don't know one acid from another. However, it wasn't boric acid, but citric acid. I added about 50% - 75% of what pool calculator said to add. Let it circulate and tested the water. Extremely acidic and no borates detected. WTH?? Didn't understand until I noticed the actual label on the bucket. I felt so stupid.

What do I do now?

Pool is pebble plaster, approximately 14,000 gal with spa. Was able to finally raise ph, but can't get water blue. Been adding chlorine, but it's like I'm adding water. Did I just ruin my pool?
