Hi everyone,

I tried searching so I didn't bug you all with what I'm sure is a repeat question but then I read the email.

Anyway, I have an IG vinyl pool with a goldline/hayward Aqua plus SWCG. My pool store says my water has about 3400ppm in salt, but the salt cell says 2000 and won't turn on. I had the cell cleaned and tested but no change.

My guess is that the cell is dying, it passes voltage which is why it passes a test but it's not detecting the salt in the pool and needs to be replaced. I bought it in 2009 so it's definitely old, but where I live in NH and it runs only 3 months a year I was hoping it could go longer.

Just wanted some reassurance before I spent the money to replace it.

TL/DL
Salt cell has been cleaned and tested, still registering 2000ppm in a pool that definitely has 3200ppm or better.
