Default best way of patching vinyl liner 10 ft deep water loss leak

I think the aqua bot Vacuum took out 1-2 of the patches made by American Pool Detection made a few years ago (4-5 yrs back). What is the best way of reapplying and finding out where the leak is in the bottom of the pool. I have no scuba gear.. I got a wet suit and just bought a 10lbs weight to weigh me down when finding and fixing the leaks with the pool patch. What type of patch kit I can use Realistically? As I have to get air, swim down, take some time to patch this 'darn' patch (without getting drown) and make sure it sticks. Suggestions? Are there any good peel and stick type of adhesive I can use which is better than those apply to a clear pvc type of plastic material. By the time I go to the bottom of the 10 feet, the glue patch on my hands could maybe dried off or push out of my hands as the current of swimming below, etc etc. what is best way??

I am not sure about the best way of finding the leak, but I know of one way, I haven't done it myself. You can use some phenol red for testing pH, swim very carefully to where you think the leak is trying not to stir the water, and squeeze a little red out near the leak and see if it gets drawn out of the pool. You can't have your pump going, you want as little water disturbance as possible. Being as its 10 feet down, that brings me back to lifeguard training.

As far as getting the patch down to the leak, you can apply the adhesive to the patch and the fold it in half, swim down and unfold the patch and apply. That way no glue will come off and you can hold it better.
