Hi Everyone, I am a structural engineer (EIT) and been in concrete subcontracting for the better part of 10yrs. I have recently began building my own swimming pool and am very excited. While I haven't made the decision, I am seriously considering starting a pool construction company. I have enjoyed planning and building my pool and the possibilities in outdoor projects are so great, exciting and satisfying that I definitely look forward to a startup. I look forward to learning from this forum and hopefully being of some help as well.
My pool is a 40'x20', Rectangular. It's depths are sequentially 3'(5ft), 4'(15'),4.5'(5'),6'(15"), I sloped to 6' from the 25' to 30' mark giving me 6' depth in the last 10ft of pool. When I say depth I'm referring to water depth and not wall, of course you all may know that, just trying to be as clear as possible. In fact today I had to call the electrician because he used flexible pvc to come out of the light niche and I wasn't comfortable about that. You all may have some opinions about that, if so, please do share. I live in south Texas, way way south, and we got some rain today so I had to cut the day short. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully pouring the walls on Friday.
