    Question Maintenance Polyquat?

For those of you who use polyquat as a preventative measure...what dosage do you add to your pool and when? I have an 8000 gallon A/G pool.

Recommended maintenance dose for Pooltrine 60 polyquat is 3 ounces per 10,000 gallons weekly.

I just follow the directions on the side of the bottle. However, I've never had to use a maintenence dose, one shot is generally enough to keep things in check for the season.

I use a bi-weekly maintenance dose of Polyquat, 4oz/10,000 gal. I have high CYA (100ppm) and I keep chlorine on the low side (5ppm), slightly lower than Bens Best Guess Guide. This works for me and my pool. No algae yet.

It's funny, I have 3 different manufacturers bottles of poly 60 and they all have different instructions.
    Pooltrine 60 = 3 ozs per 10,000 gals
    Leslie's algae preventer step 4 = 2-4 ozs per 10,000 gals
    Anthony & Sylvan "pro" 60 algaecide = 2 1/2 ozs per 10,000 gals

Sounds like 3 oz would be average. I have been using 4 ozs every 7 days successfuly.

Michael - Downloaded your new calculator. Thanks, They have been a great help!

Won't shocking remove the polyquat? If so, I would think that one dose a season would not be much use...

Does anyone know just how how chlorine affects polyquat? and how often you need to supplement polyquat to keep the level active?

Sorry if this has been addressed in other posts...
