My Polaris 280 has been trouble free for 4 seasons now. I'm hoping this means it will be reliable long term.

I had a Polaris pressure-side cleaner. 165? I still have it but haven't used it in, I guess, 10 years. Used to tangle itself up, valve chambers would clog and if I didn't through a handful of loose cotton in each time all the fine stuff would pass through it.
Then I got a robotic and haven't looked back.

Being from CA and I am assuming somewhat sensitive to energy costs, so yourself a favor and don't get a booster cleaner. There are plenty of cleaners that work without boosters. One of the better ones, IMHO, is ThePoolCleaner. Hayward now owns them and sells their own variant, the AquaNaut but that is a suction side cleaner.
