    Default sand filter replaced

I have a Hayward Pro Series S-244T and we changed the sand out. The control valve is on properly and the sand is the correct grade. After putting everything back together the water will only filter for about 5 are so and then nothing. The valve and center pipe are properly place back together. I ran it on backwash for 5 minutes then rinse for 60 sec. Any ideas as to what is happening? Thanks

That's 250 lb sand filter? Did you use exactly the right amount of sand and was it specifically pool filter sand?
Top mount sand filters are fairly simple devices so you don't have many options of places for things to go wrong:
Sand--too much, too little, wrong kind, gummed up.
Laterals: Damaged, blocked or not placed properly
Multi port valve: Damaged, assembled wrong, failed spider gasket, plumbed wrong.

It's got to be in one of those 3.
