Hi all!
I live in Jacksonville, Florida
I have a pool that is I heavy sunlight almost all day. No screen. It was a waterfall rock feature where when the pump is on,it pumps water into the spa and over flows into the pool. The overflow is over rocks and trickles into the pool. I moved in a year ago and noticed this pool evaporates a lot during the summer. Like more so than what seems to be normal for pools. Is this because the rock feature and the waterfall over the hot rocks all day? The pump runs from 8-4:30 every day. Would it be better to run the pump like 4 am to noon so it's not on during the hot portion of the day?
What would be expected evaporation per day with this rock waterfall feature? Most posts I see 1/4 of an inch for normal pools but I'm closer to 1/2 for sure. I just am paranoid about leaks but logic tells me this waterfall rock feature would evaporate more cause of the hot rocks and thin water stream there. Or should I still get it inspected?
Thanks!
