Hi! I'm Katie. I'm a new pool owner. There is so much information to know. It's so confusing. I'll just start with my basics. I recently bought my parents house and it came with my childhood pool. My mom was an excellent pool keeper, but when all of us kids moved out the pool went by the wayside. This year is the first year the pool has been hooked up to a pump and filter. The pool is a 16x24 AG. I purchased the Hayward S166T with the Hayward Power Flo Matrix 1hp. Last weekend (before the filter/pump arrived) I dumped in a liquid shock and it quickly went from green to cloudy blue. This weekend I got the filter/pump hooked up and turned on and the pool is slowly showing improvement. Today its still cloudy, but I'm hopeful for clear water in a few days! Any ideas is greatly appreciated. I'm a newbie, so basic terms is best! I'll be searching around the forum for more information. Happy to be here!
