Hi,
We had purchased an above ground pool in 2009 for our house in TN and then got stationed out of state in 2011. We decided to rent out our home with a Property Manager. Everything went well with the last tenant. But now we have a new one and he travels a lot and doesn't want to open the pool in the summer at all and doesn't want to deal with the pool care.
Not sure if he really doesn't want to use it or if he maybe thought we would get a pool boy if he said that. lol.
It's odd to me that someone would pick a house to rent with a pool that takes half the yard, if he is not going to use it. -- Anyway......
Now we don't know if we have to do anything with the pool? Should we hire someone to at least open it and close it back up 1-2 times a year? Should we drain it? Can we just leave it as it is? If we drain it, would it still need a cover? If the tenant doesn't want to deal with the upkeep of the pool, he probably doesn't want to get the water of the pool cover either. We don't know how many years this person will be renting and if he plans on using it in the future. What are our options and what's the best care for the pool in this situation? Worst case we would take it down completely.
The last tenant had winterized it last fall.
Sorry I can't provide any detailed information, I honestly don't even remember the size :/ , I think it was a 24ft round. Any tips will be appreciated.
