    Default Questions about CC

When you start with a high CC and then shock, what happens to the CC? Does the FC get rid of the CC like it does bacteria and such?

The buest guess chart for a safe shock level lists the FC (as I would expect), should the TC be considered at all for safe levels for vinyl liners? In other words, if you have a high CC and it takes a high amount of FC to shock would a level of 15 FC + 10 CC =25TC be harmful for the liner?

    THANKS!

If you google "breakpoint chlorination" you should find a description of what goes on when you shock. A CC level of 10 sounds pretty high. I believe the 25 ppm would not damage your liner especially considering that your CC should be dropping so if you keep FC at 15 then TC should make its way down to 15 also (it may take several days).
