I am looking to replace my costly propane heater with some solar panels. But I have no clue what panels are decent and which ones I should stay away from. I am hoping to get something up and running for less than $1k if possible. So what are some reasonably priced panels/systems worth looking at? I will post back with all my pool spec.s in a bit. Right now though the pool is a cement inground pool. My pump and current heater are located in a 1 1/2 stall south facing garage. I should be able to utilize the south facing half of the garage roof for panel installation.

Any suggestions, links to info, parts list ect would be of great help. I am not looking to extend my swim season by months only allow myself to open the pool possibly a few weeks earlier in May than I normally do. And keep it up to a decent temp. during the swim season. Which in Michigan is pretty much between Memorial Day - Labor Day.
