    Default Green Algae Problem

New user here, though I have been lurking and reading the forums for several months. Have learned tons about pools, so thank you to everybody.

I currently have a green algae problem that I can't seem to get rid of.

    Short story:
My pool is in-ground, concrete, roughly 22,000 gallons.
I have added my pool info to the Pool Chart.
I am currently using Bleach and Muriatic Acid only. No other products going in my pool now.
I am using a Taylor K-2006 test kit.

    Results as of this am:
    FC 42
    CC 0
pH 7.4 (keeps drifting up to 7.8-8 weekly, not sure why?, and I add 1-2 quarts of acid to bring it back down)
    TA 100-125
CH 500 (hard Arizona water, can't do much about it)
    CYA 150 (using dilution method)

Pool seems to remain green despite what I think is probably balanced water with a super-chlorination level. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Long story:
It rained very heavily here a few months ago and that turned my pool green. Prior to that my pool was always clear blue. I used to use Trichlor tabs and shock with dichlor, hence the very high accumulated CYA levels in my pool. I tried to clear the algae with super-shocking, unfortunately I used stabilized shock and so that made my CYA problem worse. I started reading here and have completely changed my practice. I bought a K-2006 test kit and went to work. My CYA levels were initially well above 200, I have partially drained and refilled the pool several times and have brought this done somewhat. I have completely changed to using just bleach now. I have super shocked based on the best guess chart, hence the high FC at the moment, and have been brushing, vacuuming, and using my robotic pool cleaner. I have been keeping the water balanced and chlorinated at shock levels for about 2 weeks. Despite this, the water is still green. I feel that it may be marginally better, but has not cleared as quickly as I thought it might. Would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Its time to use algaecide. if you catch the algae quick you can get away with using tons of chlorine. scrub, vacuum and backwash, then treat. if you know how to safely/properly, clean your filter afterwards.
algae can raise your ph. try to keep it in balance like you have been while you treat it.
you could use a higher alkalinity, that is if you didn't adjust for cya. cya comes up in your TA test and throws it off. you take 1/3 of the cya reading and subtract it from your TA to adjust. from what you posted, your true TA is 50-75. (again thats if you didn't already adjust)
I wouldn't worry about the alkalinity until after you treat your pool, however. i'm telling you about that though, so after you get it nice and blue again, it'll keep your pools PH from yoyoing.
Fyi: in AZ, due to hardness, the state only requires a hardness of 60, so its nothing to worry about but keep it up around 120 to be tip top.
