    Default Vermiculite concern

Help. I'm in a battle with my contractor. While filling the pool I called out numerous imperfections in the base of the pool. He insisted that it would correct with water pressure. It's a big pool. 23x42 free form. However, now that the pool is filled, and the lights come on, the pool floor looks like the surface of the moon. I have sent them pictures and requested a meeting at night so that the can see for themselves. I am preparing for a list of excuses and reasons to wait it out. I'm not willing to. My pool dose not even have concrete around it and I think it would be an embarrassment to put their name on the work. How smooth can the pool base of vermiculite be? My last pool was a concrete base and looked nothing like this.. Advice please.

He lied to you to cover his incompetence. No other way to put it. You are seeing footprints because they didn't use 18" squares of plywood as "snow shoes" to keep the bottom smooth. "Repair" means remove the liner and re-do the bottom.
