Can anyone tell me why search is disabled for new members?

Is there really anything sinister that can be done by way of a simple search? I mean, really? Seems a bit silly...

As a trial user you are limited in your access to our site. You cannot see other forums yet. Pool owners are home owners and therefore are targets for hackers and internet scams. We've had numerous attempted attacks over the years. Therefore, until our site owner verifies that you are indeed a pool owner, or are about to be (that's his decision and process and we moderators are not part of that), you are limited.

If you log off, you can see the other forums in our site, but, like most forums, you cannot search as a lurker.
