Closed setting on 4-Way Valve

Hello! I have a Praher Ocean V4 4-way valve. I am currently filling my out of ground pool for the first time but need to close the valve whilst the pool fills between the inlet and the where the skimmer will be located (it will be fitted once level has reached to 4cm below the skimmer position). The valve has filtration, winter, backwash and rinse positions but no "close" position. How do I stop the water flowing through.

Hi Steve.
First, try the "Winter" position. That should be the same as "Close".
Second, since your pool is above ground and the plumbing is exposed, consider installing PVC ball valves near each drain (Skimmer included) and return. I prefer the kind of ball valve that's also a quick-connect, so when it's time to shut the pool down for the winter, it's easy to disconnect and drain the plumbing and merely plug the returns and drains.

Hi Carl. Many thanks for that, much appreciated. I will fit a few ball valves. Have found some information on Winter setting which says this "leaves all connections open / all seals are relieved / raises the durability of the gasket". Cheers, Steve
