    Default Hello Pool Forum

I have a 15' above ground with a Waterway Pro-Line high rate sand filter with a tank diameter of 22" that holds 150 lbs. of sand, with an automatic chlorine feeder. My pump is a Proline Model #PE71-II-V, with one and a half horse power, 115 volts, and 12 amps. My water volume is approx. 5300 gals. I stopped using pool store chemicals this past May after opening it and had a trouble free season using BBB. I thank you guys for your efforts. I am about to close it for the winter here in Pa. and plan on using an algaecide, raising the chlorine and Ph levels, and throwing the cover on after disconnecting the filter and pump. Any suggestions or possibly a checklist of the proper method to shut down a pool for the freezing winter on my small above ground pool? Thanks again!

Only use Polyquat 60% for the algaecide, wait 48 hours after, test the water and raise to shock level, then close.
