what does it mean if TC = 2-4, but FC = 0?

Well, on paper, it means that you have CC's of 2-4....not good.

That may not be the case, however....that's awfully high CC's for pool water that is clear.

I assume the TC test was the one where you add five drops and then match the color of the water to the yellow on the side of the comparator tube.

Next, is the FC test you did where you count the number of drops until the water turns clear?

Let's verify the type of tests you did and then figure out an answer.

Sorry, I didn't express myself more clearly. I only needed to verify that those WERE the type of tests you performed....Sorry.

That said, it will not hurt to see if you get the same results twice

retested and same result.

my test is Taylor, first result is for FC using 5 drops each added from 2 types of bottles, giving FC number, then i add 5 more drops and get TC

The FC is barely registering = ~0, TC is still 2-4.

Any ideas?

Hi, first thing is to get some bleach in the pool, a gal of 6% should do for now. You are going to need to put a lot of bleach in to 'burn off' the cc, find any post by mwsmith2 and download the bleach calculator found in his sig. Take a look at the 'Ben's best guess" sticky at the top of the 'Using chlorine' section, to see what the 'shock' level is for your cya. If the water is clear, you shouldn't have to do multiple dosings to correct the problem. This looks like a small hiccup but not a major problem. However, get some FC in there STAT.
