    Default Intex Sand Filter

    Can someone tell me how to figure the MINIMUM flow rate of a sand pump filter? Trying to determine if we can place a skimmer on this pool & what type of vac we can use. It is a 16x32 Intex Ultra Frame.

    Thanks

    What I need to know is this: I have an Intex SF70110 with a maximum flow rate of 2150gph, all the accessories I have looked for, side wall skimmer, vacuum, say the pump must have a minimum flow rate of 800gph. We have a 16x32 Intex Ultra Frame pool

    It will be less than the rated 2150 because of losses in the tubing and filter. It should definitely be above 800gph. There's probably wiggle room in the 800gph rating as well but the manufacturer probably doesn't want customers with a 350gph pump complaining that the product works poorly.

    Thank you very much for your response you gave me exactly the information I needed. Now just for fun can you give me a fairly easy way to clear the air out of the vacuum hose so the pump will work????? :}

    Sorry nobody told you before. It's an old, well-used and effective technique.

    Yes it works very well, however we are experiencing a very odd problem, after we clear the air from the and connect the vacuum in the proper way with the adapter that was provided, with the Intex Maintenance Kit, the pressure on the pump/filter drops to zero. If we remove the basket from the skimmer that we purchased & hold the hose over the intake at the bottom of the skimmer the vacuum works fantastically, which involves someone standing outside the pool holding the hose in the skimmer body while someone else vacuums!!! Does anyone have any suggestions? Its almost as if the hose or adapter is too small to allow water through

    Thanks in advance
