Default No Flow indication on Hayward saltwater pool

I have a pool and it's has turned green I'm looking to shock it to turn it blue again. However, my Hayward Aqua rite machine shows a light on indicating that it has "no flow". Not sure what it means or how to fix that. The pool was converted to a salt based pool about a year ago if that helps. Can someone please help me

Unfortunately, I can't help you with your equipment but maybe someone else will be able to.

However, you don't want to use a SWCG to shock a pool anyways. It is better to just use chlorine added manually instead. Many of use just use Walmart's plain generic 8.25% bleach for our source of chlorine.

Do you have a drops-based test kit? We will need some numbers to be able to help. The test kit that we think is by far the best is the Taylor K2006 or 2006C (better buy). Not available locally but you can get it through this link that takes you to Amazon: http://pool9.net/tk/

But, in the meantime, go to Walmart and see if they have the HTH 6-Way drops-based kit (no test strips!) and get that. If they don't, get an OTO/Phenol Red kit (yellow and red drops) instead. Use it to test and then post your numbers. Also while you are at WallyWorld, get several jugs of their generic 8.25% bleach, a couple of boxes of 20 Mule Team Borax (laundry aisle) and a gallon of distilled water.

Also, tell us the type and volume of your pool, what size (hp) pump you have and what type and size filter.

Repost with requested info and then someone here can try and help you.

    . . . membership updated.

Please note that you have 2 unrelated problems:

    1. The flow indicator on your SWCG is not working (assume that there actually IS flow), so the SWCG is off. You may need this:
Hayward GLX-FLO-R Flow Switch Assembly without Tee Replacement Kit for Hayward SWCG

    2. Your pool is about to turn green . . . or has already done so.

There is ABSOLUTELY no reason why you cannot chlorinate your pool manually, until you can get your SWCG repaired. SWCG's should ONLY be used for routine, normal chlorination. You should chlorinate manually during start up, winterization, and anytime there is a a problem.
